To mark its 70th year, the Malaysia and Singapore Vintage Car Register (MSVCR) hosted two gala dinners — one in Singapore in August and the other in Kuala Lumpur in September — enabling members from both countries to celebrate this milestone together. The twin events reflected the Register’s enduring cross-border spirit, ensuring that as many members as possible could attend one or the other gathering with ease.
Both galas followed a similar format: a convivial dinner, speeches reflecting on the club’s history and achievements, and — most importantly — the acknowledgement of key individuals who have contributed greatly to the MSVCR and to the wider historic motoring community.
A highlight of each evening was the recognition of the club’s long-standing members, those who have been part of the MSVCR for over 25 years, with some proudly marking more than four decades of continuous membership. Each was presented with a commemorative souvenir by President Felix Indran as a token of appreciation for their loyalty and dedication. It was a touching moment that underscored the club’s unique sense of continuity and friendship across generations.
In addition, four individual awards were presented, honouring outstanding contributions to both the club and the preservation of vintage motoring in the region. These awards not only celebrated achievement but also reflected the character, generosity, and passion that define the MSVCR’s membership — qualities that have sustained the Register through seventy remarkable years of shared motoring heritage.
