The club’s famous Penang Round Island Rally is bigger than ever this year!
As you have noticed, each year of PRIR has some variation in it’s format and schedule whilst still maintaining its ‘rally’ and ’round-island’ roots. This year’s amazing event starts with Registration & Dinner on Friday night at the ‘Hompton by the Beach’, Tanjung Tokong, Penang, followed by the sensational main competition on Saturday featuring a tour of famous sites in the Penang Five Corner Challenge…. each location will have a challenge for you all to figure-out.
On Saturday night we’ll enjoy an extraordinary gourmet dinner overlooking the sea, starting with the President’s drink at sunset @ Elementos Lounge Deck followed by the main meal.
On Sunday we’ll drive across the island for an incredible static show at Queens Waterfront, Persiaran Bayan Indah, Bayan Lepas one of Penang’s newer prestige locations with trophies for the best-presented classic cars. The event ends 2:30pm Sunday with the prizegiving at a location with easy access to the highway.

Who can join?
- The event is open to both members and non-members. Members enjoy a discount so if you are considering joining up now is the time! Click here for more details on membership
- Classic cars and motorcycles 20 years and older (YOM 2004 or older) are eligible to participate under MSVCR rules. Modern cars are welcome to join the fun but can’t win the competitions.
Event entry fee & payment instructions
- RM300/person for MSVCR members & their passengers
- RM450/person for non-members.
- Fees includes Saturday Dinner, Sunday Lunch, Shirt, Car Sticker & chance to win our famous handcrafted trophies. Fees do not include travel or accommodation.
To register for the event we require RM100/SGD30 deposit in advance (refundable in full for cancellations before Fri 26th May) – send payment receipt snapshot to membership@msvcr.com

Event Agenda
Friday 1st March
- 4:00pm Onwards: Check-in and event registration at ‘Hompton by the Beach‘, Tanjung Tokong, Penang
- 6:30pm Onwards: Free & easy dinner at Viva Food Court, directly opposite hotel. (This area gets busy at night, we have reserved TOP 3 Floors of hotel parking garage for MSVCR cars)
- Late night: seaside get-together at Elementos Lounge Deck @ Hompton
Saturday 2nd March
- 10:00am Short drive to Penang City Hall (Jln Padang Kota Lama) for event briefing & photo session
- 11:00am Flag-Off of the Penang Five Corner Challenge
- 11am – 4pm Enjoy your drive around Penang Island, visit the 5 corners and try your skill/luck with the challenges, stop for lunch wherever you like, stop for coffee as often as you like, you’ve got all day..no rush. Once you’ve visited the 5 corners then you can return to the Hotel.
- 4:00pm onwards, return to hotel & rest/relax.
- 6:30pm President’s Sunset drink @ Elementos Lounge Deck
- 7:30pm PRIR Seafood Buffet
- 9:30pm Announcement of winners of Penang Five Corner Challenge
Sunday 3rd March
- Morning Breakfast & Check-out of Hompton hotel
- 10:30am Drive to Queens Waterfront, Persiaran Bayan Indah, Bayan Lepas
- 11am Onwards Queens Waterfront Classic Car Show Static Car Show/Competition on the Promenade, 3 prize categories:
